St John Ambulance is the UK's leading first
aid charity. We believe that everyone who needs it should receive
first aid from those around them and that no one should suffer for
the lack of trained first aiders.
Our 44,000 volunteers are committed to
training, caring and saving lives, helping around 130,000
casualties annually. We're also one of the country's largest youth
organisations with more than half of our members aged under 25.
Our volunteers provide first aid at high
profile national as well as local events and provide support to the
statutory services, especially in times of emergency. In addition
to this we have a number of community support programmes which give
vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in society
such as the homeless and the elderly. We have a range of
volunteering opportunities – from our Neighbourhood First Responder
scheme to our bathing service – all of which make an immediate and
real difference in the community.
The origins of St John Ambulance date back
to the eleventh century and since then we have continued to provide
the best medical care using the latest techniques
