First aid training in the community

St John Ambulance teaches first aid in local communities across the country, enabling anyone to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

We’re building a nation of first aiders.

We believe that everyone should get the chance to learn how to save a life.

We’re already the leading provider of workplace first aid training, reaching over 250,000 people a year. But we know this isn’t enough. That’s why our charitable work is so important.

Using profits from our workplace training and product sales, along with the generous contributions of our supporters, we hold hundreds of public first aid demonstrations and easy-to-access training sessions every year. By doing this, we can give people access to important skills that they wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to learn.

We’re also always campaigning to raise awareness of first aid and developing new ways to provide people with basic knowledge – because even the most simple skills can save a life.

Our community first aid courses teach a range of simple life saving techniques to people of all ages in short,
easy-to-access training sessions, for little or no charge.

Save a Life September is St John Ambulance’s annual awareness month, designed to encourage more people to learn vital first aid. Every September, we give thousands of free first aid demonstration in around 200 locations, such as shopping centres, schools, markets and train stations, and hand out free first aid guides to over 100,000 people.
